Description
Overview
The Aries 6504 Pro is built on a next-generation back-illuminated sCMOS platform, delivering substantial improvements in readout noise, frame rate, and dark current. In the Sensitive mode, it achieves 0.43 e⁻ (RMS) readout noise for single-photon-level signal discrimination, complemented by 297 fps at 4.2 MP in high-speed readout mode and a dark current of ≤0.01 e⁻/pixel/s @ −20 °C. Together, these capabilities extend the performance envelope of sCMOS cameras for demanding low-light and high-speed imaging applications.
95% QE & 0.43e-(RMS)
Single-Photon-Level Resolution
The Aries 6504 Pro fully unlocks the performance of a next-generation BSI sCMOS sensor. In the Sensitive mode, it achieves 0.43 e⁻ (RMS) readout noise at 99 fps and 4.2 MP. As shown in the figure, the median readout noise is 0.36 e- (over 50% of pixels), and the RMS value is 0.43 e- (over 70% of pixels). This noise distribution meets the key conditions for single-photon statistical resolution, indicating that Aries 6504 Pro is well for quantitative low-light measurements at extremely low photon levels.
297 fps @ 4.2 MP
High-Speed with Sub-Electron Noise
In Speed mode, the Aries 6504 Pro operates at up to 297 fps at full 4.2 MP resolution, representing a threefold increase in frame rate compared with previous-generation sCMOS cameras of the same sensor format. Sub-electron readout noise down to 0.8 e⁻ is maintained under high-speed readout, enabling efficient photon utilization in high-speed, low-light conditions.
0.01 e-/pixel/s @ −20 °C
Low Dark Current for Long-Exposure
At −20 °C, the Aries 6504 Pro exhibits a dark current as low as 0.01 e⁻/pixel/s, approximately one-fifth that of previous-generation 6.5 μm sCMOS cameras. This reduction significantly improves long-exposure performance and supports applications requiring extended integration times under low-light conditions.
